I loved this analogy. I have been playing around with the idea of neurodivergence in my own mind. I wonder if ADHD is a disorder or if our culture is the one that is disordered. Both can be true and I don’t have an answer but 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s fun to contemplate the question.

I was diagnosed at 70. My knees don’t work as well as “others”. Thankfully though, it’s not physical knee pain. I will keep your definition/explanation for my own support and share it with the runner skeptics.

Dell,

Holy cow. I remember hearing someone recently bemoaning being diagnosed at 34, and thinking how lucky they were — but I imagine you must look at me and think the same.

I don’t so much regret any of the events of my life, or even most decisions — I just shake my head at how much effort it took, and how much easier it could have been.

If you feel like sharing, I’d love to know what it’s like for you to look back over 70+ years and see the lens of ADHD.

Thanks so much for posting this — it means a lot to me that you listened, and commented.
