You did it! You will know EVERYTHING!
Unless you filter everything except UPDATE emails, in which case you'll know what's important.
Hi there! This is just the first email.
You’ve successfully subscribed to our updates!
1. Why ADHD? Why Open Space?
The first one is easy: I lived with undiagnosed ADHD for fifty three years before I got diagnosed. I’ve benefited immensely from people who’ve shared their experiences, and I happen to know a great way to let that happen in person.
And that way is an “Open Space” event. I’m following the model created by Harrison Owen back in the ‘80’s (google it) with some of my own adjustments developed over thirteen years of facilitating various open space events all around North America and Europe.
2. What kind of people should come?
If you are an adult who has ADHD (diagnosed or not), or interact professionally or personally with someone who does, there will be something here for you. Whether you’re bringing a question you hope will be answered or want to share a solution that’s worked for you or just want to talk about being “neurospicy”, the ADHDOS will be a space for you.
3. This is not about money.
I’m doing this because I want to — not because I want to make a buck. Hopefully we’ll find sponsors like Serendipity Labs to cover the costs, and if you want to contribute, I won’t say no. But I have a day job in the non-profit world, so I basically subscribe to the idea that money is a tool to be used to make things better for everyone, not just me.
4. Stay tuned.
This is literally the first email for this event, so as of the moment of me writing this there’s no information other than “Serendipity Labs in Madison, WI will be the location of the first ADHD Open Space.” At this moment, I don’t know the date, or any other details.
Relax. By the time you read this, likely things will be much more together. There might be a podcast episode or two. That’s the joy of asynchronous communication!
