Would You Subscribe to an ADHD Open Space Salon?
All content here is free. But what if we could make time for more direct conversations?
I've got an idea.
I was talking with one of the followers of this substack, who had found an article pretty helpful, and she said that she wished there were more spaces where she could hang out and talk with other ADHD folks — whether late diagnosed or lifetime aware, professional, retired, still-in-school, whatever.
At the same time I’ve been listening to the awesome “Empire” podcast, particularly their short biography of Benjamin Franklin — who had a group he called the “junta”, which were just interesting people he’d get together with to talk and chat.
What if I created a space like that for us to meet?
To be clear: I couldn’t do this for free. This would be a benefit that a paid subscription would get you — similar to
’s Worm School (though not daily, how does he do that?). It would likely be on Zoom (which is part of why it would need to cost $$) and we could set it up so that you got benefits from it regardless of whether you could make it to the “live” event.See if this makes sense to you:
Sunday evenings at 5pm CT.
We spend the time talking about interesting things we’ve learned about ADHD, challenges we’re facing, joys or pain we’d like to share to increase or decrease them respectively. Maybe I can talk an expert into coming on; maybe it’s just me and you, chatting about what it’s like to live in this world as fish in the forest.
It’s an exclusive Zoom login for subscribers only, and the meeting is recorded — so if you are a subscriber, you have access to it after. But it will not be put out to the general public — only people who have subscribed here.
Along with access to replay, I will have a session summary after each one emailed to you — with highlights, links, etc.
What do you think? Would you pay $10/month to have this once a week? If you would, give the post a like, and feel free to leave a comment if there’s something that would sweeten the deal. If you wouldn’t, I’d like to hear from you too — why not? Is there something that would make it more appealing?
Either way: thanks for being here!
